It's been at twilight for quite some time now
But you don't need much light to see your outline
I notice things I've not seen before
Your grace, for one, as you slip through the door
I see things are older now
My whole life is over now
Still I stare I'm here though you think me there
A hi, a good-bye, it's nearly enough to make me cry
Idle mind, idle salutations
Only friends have idle conversations

Won't you let me see why it's always me
Why I'll always be doomed to mediocrity
Help me to help you see, why eternally, why pitifully

A waiting prayer I make to find out all it takes to be
A man that you could see, should you be in my proximity
Maybe you could make it clear, since I am with you here
Help me to understand that you won't let me lend a hand
Do you hate me so much that you could do to me such
An unprovoked, malicious attack, a clear reminder that I can't go back

Lastly, I'm here to guard the station
Life is too much whichever way you're facing
And to madness it seems unclear
It would be clearer should you be near
But I've not given up on me, nor you on you
And everywhere you go there's my option too
A decision regretted I can't say where I'd go
But certainly I'll let you know
